Italian as a Heritage Language – Regular Courses Level 1-6

Children will have the opportunity to improve their conversation skills, expand their Italian vocabulary and learn how to read and write in Italian. Particular emphasis is given to orthography, morphology and syntax of the language as well as reading. In addition to learning Italian grammar children will learn elements of Italian culture, literature, history and geography.
The class program is based on the academic curriculum currently used in elementary schools in Italy.

We currently offer 6 separate classes, all held at the same location and time:

  • IHL 1 (1st grade)
  • IHL 2 (2nd grade)
  • IHL 3 (3rd grade)
  • IHL 4 (4th grade)
  • IHL 5 (5th grade)
