beginner and intermediate speakers (Transitional Kindergarten-5th grade)

Our Italian trough cooking class is a hands-on cooking and nutrition education course that combines the pleasure of preparing and enjoying real healthy food (mainly from Mediterranean diet) with the acquisition of basic Italian vocabulary and communication skills. In this class each sense, visual (sight), auditory (hearing), kinesthetic and tactile (touch and balance), gustatory (taste), and olfactory (smell) highly involved, helps to retain and to reinforce new information building toward a more complete experience of a concept or an idea. Because multi-sensory learning gives you more than one way of experiencing something, it is ideal also for children languages courses who naturally engage multiple senses in both learning and play. Simple recipes with fresh fruit and vegetables and basic nutritional education projects and activities will also help children to become a better eater and consumer in a market that constantly persuade them to eat high-calorie, low-nutrient products.

NOTE: the class is only offered if a minimum of 5 children is enrolled.
